Reunion & Commencement Weekend ’17 is fast approaching (May 25-28), and University Relations needs student employees! Aside from getting paid, you’ll also have the opportunity to assist with one of Wesleyan’s biggest events and network with alumni. Potential jobs include working at the Registration site, being a Camp Cardinal Counselor, escorting guests around campus in shuttle vans, and much more!

Application Information for Academic and NSO Peer Advisors Now Available

Academic Peer Advisors

The Deans’ Office is looking for talented and motivated students to become Academic Peer Advisors for the 2017-20178 academic year. Academic Peer Advisors are juniors and seniors who work during New Student Orientation (NSO) and throughout the academic year to support Wesleyan’s faculty advising program and enhance student access to academic resources. Academic Peer Advisors will receive training, give individualized peer advice and facilitate workshops for groups of students regarding metacognitive learning strategies, time management, public speaking, study, and exam preparation strategies. Apply to be an Eco Facilitator

The Wesleyan Sustainability Office is seeking frosh and sophomores to serve as Eco Facilitators for Spring 2017 and the 2017-2018 school year! The Eco Facilitators are a group of about 15 students who work closely with freshman dorms to promote sustainable and environmentally-friendly lifestyles on campus within the context of global climate change and social inequality.

In Spring 2017, EFs will enroll in a semester-long student forum focused on strategies for encouraging sustainable behaviors. Throughout the fall and spring of the 2017-2018 school year, EFs will be paid to apply their ideas through these strategies in dorms, and work with RAs to account for unequal access to resources while promoting sustainable living. Working as an EcoFacilitator is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills and take part in building a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive campus community.

Apply to be an Admissions Intern

The Office of Admission will hire one Intern this semester. The position is open to members of the Class of 2019 and 2020 who are in good standing. The Admission Intern position is an opportunity for students to engage closely in the recruitment activities of the Office of Admission. We seek hard workers who are mature, dependable and enthusiastic in representing Wesleyan to the public.

Admission Intern responsibilities include:

  • general office work
  • developing, coordinating and implementing activities for Open House and WesFest with prospective students, their parents and members of the Wesleyan community
  • making phone calls and sending emails to fly-in participants
  • recruiting overnight hosts or student panelists for events
  • representing Wesleyan with Admission staff at area receptions when available
  • other duties as assigned

The position begins Spring 2017, with the expectation that the Intern will return for the next academic year. Interns work 8-10 hours/week (sometimes more during event weeks). Work study is preferred, but not required for this position.

Apply to be an Admissions Tour Guide

The Tour Guide position in an opportunity for students to support the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admission. The office seeks diligent workers who are mature, dependable, energetic, and eager to share their Wesleyan experience. The position is open to students in the class of 2018, 2019 and 2020 who are in good academic standing. Tour guide responsibilities include leading campus tours and attending meetings/trainings periodically throughout the year. This position starts in January 2017. Compensation will be based on campus work study pay rates, although you do not need to be eligible for work study to apply.

Student Employees Needed for Homecoming and Family Weekends

Homecoming (Oct.21-22) and Family Weekends (Oct. 28-30) are fast approaching, and student employees are needed.

Aside from getting paid, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to help out with one of Wesleyan’s most important events, make lasting connections with alumni, and represent the student body to hundreds of visitors and guests. Potential jobs include working at the registration site, escorting guests around campus in shuttle vans, and much more! 

To apply for a position, please fill out and submit the student worker application.   Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, October 5th at 5:00 PM, and we will notify you of your employment status no later than Monday, October 10th.

Note: Homecoming is during fall break.
